My kid LOVED this set of dungeons & dragons dice for his high school club. They work great and were a real hit he said.
They came with a partial charge so I could see them glow right out of the box. It doesn't take much movement to turn on the light, a regular roll will do it. They are hidden away now, til brithday night. I'm sure my son will love them!
I am so conflicted about these dice! I love that they are light up dice; you get a nice look and feel that's comfortable but don't have to worry about denting the DM's table every time you roll them. The numbers are easy to read, especially when they're thrown. If you like the look of these in the pictures, you'll probably like them in person.
That said, there are some things I don't like. It's silly, but the flashing lights are red, green, and blue, and I don't really like red and green together. (It bugs me.) I should have discovered this when I purchased it. There is no denying that glowing dice are indeed special.
The box for the dice is the charging station for the dice. Placing the dice correctly in the box is a challenge - not only do you need to make sure the dice are in the right place, but that they have the correct sides, with the contact points facing down and touching the charging pins. A diagram is included to help you understand correctly. These are really cool and fun to use and worth the little hassle.
